The Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) Strategic Plan sets out the vision, goals and priorities for NatHERS for the years ahead. It provides a roadmap that guides how the scheme will adapt to new technologies, align with government policy and respond to the needs of industry and households.

Key objectives include:

• strengthening the consistency and credibility of ratings across Australia
• supporting the transition to more energy-efficient, sustainable housing
• expanding the scheme to cover existing homes
• ensuring data and insights from assessments inform national housing and energy policy.

The plan also commits to ongoing collaboration with partners and stakeholders, recognising that delivering energy-smart homes requires shared responsibility.

By providing a clear strategic direction, NatHERS and Home Energy Rating are helping drive improved residential energy efficiency, adding value to households and industry while supporting government objectives.
