Training and accreditation is now available for all those interested in becoming a Home Energy Rating assessor for existing homes.
We are subsidising this yearβs membership and accreditation costs for the first 150 assessors accredited for existing homes. This move will drive the growth of assessor numbers by reducing upfront costs for those entering the profession, while also supporting accredited assessors to stay in the industry.
Existing homes assessor training is being provided by the Northern Victoria Institute of Technical and Further Education, and Transformed, with some free training places available for eligible applicants.
Accreditation for Home Energy Rating assessors for existing homes is through Design Matters National (DMN), who will be supporting the existing home assessor workforce. This includes:
- managing accreditation and renewals
- delivering continuing professional development (CPD)
- responding to technical enquiries and complaints
- supporting assessor performance and improvement.
